Angela has shown not only Integrity and commitment to serve veterans while she was my nurse during my stay here at the VA hospital she also gave me respect. She continually made an excellent showing that the VA has great care and always provides excellent care to its Veterans.

Angela Navarro from 5A is one of the most excellent nurses I have worked with. She consistently goes above and beyond with everything she does. She recently had a patient who was unable to void, he appeared distended to her so she got the straight cath order and was proceeding to perform a straight cath with her nursing student in attendance. She found that the foreskin was swollen and was unable to cath the patient. She contacted the team and was greeted by a resident who didn't believe her. She advocated for this patient continually until the resident and attending came to the room and saw that she was indeed correct. The appropriate consults were placed and this patient was taken care of.
Angela was professional through the entire process and a great example to her nursing student of how to keep your cool, state the facts and get action. She is always discreet and strives for excellence in the performance of her daily patient care. She is a dedicated member of her team and continues to assist and mentor each nurse that she has precepted on the unit. She gives excellent examples of outstanding nursing care to everyone who comes in contact with her. Her positive attitude and love of her profession make her an excellent DAISY Nurse.
