Melissa Graham was nominated by a former patient for guiding her through the labor and delivery of both of her children, stating Melissa embodies the DAISY principles of Integrity, Commitment, Advocacy, Respect and Excellence, with a focus on Excellence.
With her first labor two years ago, Melissa's calm voice and sweet disposition put the patient at ease and she credits Melissa for making her birth an incredible experience. When she got her induction date for her second delivery, she contacted Melissa, hoping she would be working that day. The date of her induction was actually Melissa's birthday and she had plans with her family, but she changed her plans and "came in on her birthday for us" according to the patient.
Melissa is described by the patient as being her "angel from above" and we all agree that Melissa displays every quality of a DAISY nurse and is so deserving of this honor.
