Kim had one of my patients I was working to get to the Butler VA. I went back and forth with the VA all day, and Kim was very helpful in providing additional information when I needed it. Additionally, we found out at the very last minute that the VA wasn't going to be able to take our patient yesterday for a reason we had addressed multiple times throughout the day. Kim did a fantastic job advocating for the patient; she tried to explain to the nurse at the VA that the patient was medically stable, and it was unfair to him to have to wait another night because of a petty issue that was already addressed. I really appreciate not only Kim taking the time to help me, but her constant care, concern and advocacy for this patient and truly all of her patients. We were all very frustrated with the situation, and Kim conducted herself professionally in all interactions. She definitely went above and beyond in this particular situation. I was glad to be working with her on this patient's discharge, and I look forward to continuing to work with her in the future. We're truly very lucky to have her here on 3 Main.

Kim, your Patient's daughter called to let me know that you were so kind to her father and also to the elderly gentleman who was in the room with him. She said that you were on the move the whole time and took great care to make sure her father had patient education, which truly impressed her. She stated how patient you were with your instruction, especially when you had to repeatedly remind him about his insulin, for example, and how you very methodically reviewed each step with him every time he had a question. She also mentioned how well you utilized "teach back" methodology with your education, as well. She appreciated both your care of him, and the efforts you took at patient education!
