Being a nurse isn't easy. In fact, it is a field that is extremely demanding. Our Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Katie Lock is a compassionate person and is capable of making difficult decisions and administering the right medical care to our little ones in the absence of our Neonatologists. Katie displays a high standard of professionalism in the most skilled and ethical manner. She has excellent communication skills, not only with the parents, but her staff as well. Katie is an excellent listener. She helps her staff to problem solve and is always willing to assist the staff with any task. Apart from the great communication skills she exhibits, she pays close attention to detail and has quick problem-solving abilities. She is always prepared with solutions when speaking to parents and the staff. Katie has always responded in neonatal code situations promptly, with a composed mind and calm attitude. She has empathy for our littlest ones and is always able to provide compassionate, comforting care. This adds a human touch and a kindhearted attitude that helps parents to feel at ease and confident their infant is in great hands. She is able to mix fun and humor into a sometimes stressful day that keeps us going. Katie is not only a great provider, she is an overall great person. We are so lucky to have her on our team.
