Today was only one of many days in which Rhonda went above and beyond to provide information to a patient in need. I watch Rhonda every day as charge nurse run the Pre-Op department covering OR patients, GI patients, Cath patients, and IR patients. She is always kind, considerate, helpful to not only her patient's but her coworkers as well offering a hand whenever needed despite managing a busy unit. But what really sets her apart is the fact that on numerous occasions I have witnessed her helping a patient with something when she could have easily said " Sorry that's not my problem".
A month ago, she helped a patient who came in and whose insurance declined to pay for part of his testing. She tried everything she could to help him so he wouldn't have to reschedule. Today, a patient who was very upset because her procedure had to be cancelled due to medical issues and she knew that her insurance very soon would no longer be working with Piedmont. She talked with the department manager and was able to print forms for the patient to give to her insurance company so that she might possibly be able to continue her relationship with her Piedmont provider even after her insurance changes. That was today, but that could have been any day because every day I see her go above and beyond to help someone who is in need.
