Kim is an extraordinary nurse who is very knowledgeable in her NICU skills. When Kim is working in the NICU you know you have her full support. She's always available, except when out on a transport call. She's very supportive to new team members (and currently in the NICU we have many new nurses!). Because of her calm demeanor, everyone goes to her for questions and support.
I had to be charge when the unit was busy. I was very happy to know that Kim was working because I knew that if there was an issue with any of our babies, she would step right in to help. Kim is a mentor and great resource to all of our team members. She's also very kind and calm and supportive to families when she has to transport their babies to our NICU. She's well deserving of this award, because she goes above and beyond in her interaction with both families and staff alike.
