Our nurse, Zuleica, was patient, knowledgeable, and calm under pressure. A super nice woman. We were lucky to have her from 7am to 7pm three days in a row. You can tell she is a loving and patient person. Our newborn was having difficulty latching on at feeding time and she would show up right on time to help us with technique, knowledge, and the perfect attitude.
Zuleica was a PCT and worked her way through school to become a nurse and also serves as a Spanish Language Assistant. Her manager describes her as, "…excellent with her clinical skills, and is truly gifted as a postpartum nurse, receiving countless compliments and acknowledgement from her families. She is kind, compassionate, and always goes the extra mile, giving 110% when she works. She is one of the most compassionate and non-judgmental people I've met. Zuleica has now become a preceptor and is passing on not only her sound clinical knowledge, but her compassion and her passion for nursing. She is a wonderful part of the Mother Baby family, and we feel as though she grew up on the unit."
Other patients that Zuleica has cared for have also been moved by her kindness, attentiveness, and generosity of character to leave notes following their stay at TMC. Some of what they have said includes: "Thank you to Zuleica for doing a great job meeting my needs while on the Mother Baby Unit. You gave me so much help in these two days and we are so appreciative of everything thing that you did for me and my baby. Your ability to speak Spanish and provide bilingual services was so important to me. Thank you!"
Another note says: "Zuleica gave me wonderful care and attention during my stay. She took such good care of me and the baby, and our entire family. She is so friendly and sweet and answered all of our questions. She made us feel so comfortable and I can't thank her enough for everything she did. All of your nurses are wonderful, but she is exceptional."
