Melissa Cristan-Foley has made a lasting impression on her patients for her attention to detail, her kindness, compassion, and her willingness to go the extra mile.
A patient stated, "I would like to recognize Melissa who has exemplified a caring and professional demeanor in her job performance. I have not been hospitalized in over 30 years and the care and support from Melissa cannot go unrecognized. Melissa goes above and beyond to solve any problem areas or concerns that I may have related to my illness. I have been totally overwhelmed by my illness and she has truly been a patient advocate. Words alone are not enough to explain all that Melissa has done. Her knowledge in this field so impressed me that I knew I was in good hands. As busy as nurses are, Melissa always took the time to address my needs and concerns."
Melissa continues to be a role model for other nurses and especially for the new nurses that come to our unit. She sets the bar high and it pushes the performance of others. I cannot begin to thank Melissa enough for her advocacy for our patients and staff. Melissa is truly a shining star!
