Megan went above and beyond to ensure my 12 hours with her were over the top. She was so pro-active, thinking of absolutely everything, knowing I was ready to "get out of Dodge" the moment the last IV was done. She had it timed to the nth degree and secreted a wheelchair into the room, so there was no searching for one at the last minute delaying my departure. Everything was signed - and all the education was done (in a "Sit to Commit" mode), I'd changed out of my hospital gown except for that one arm attached to the IV. All my bags were packed. It was literally a 60-second transition and I was on my way. She wheeled me down to the waiting car, and then had yet another patient who needed to be discharged at the same time. She was willing to call and call and call again to ensure providers had their ducks in a row and gave all the proper orders; she wouldn't be satisfied with "This is what the doctor said" and I can't thank her enough for that. Megan is a fantastic example of the kind of nurses we want to cultivate at UnityPoint Health Methodist-Proctor.
