Stephanie Stevens was nominated by a leader after receiving a glowing email from the friend of a patient who passed away recently. The email described, in great detail, the exceptional care that Stephanie provided for not only the patient, but also his friends and family.
In the email, the family friend noted that Stephanie was "delightful, professional, welcoming, spirit-filled and nurturing as she took care of the patient in his final days." Stephanie even joined the patient's friends and family in reciting the Rosary one evening and attended the funeral Mass for her patient and provided great comfort for his family and friends.
When nominating Stephanie, the leader wrote, "This nurse's clinical skill and especially her compassionate care exemplify the kind of nurse that our patients, their families, and our staff recognize as an outstanding role model."
