Hailey has recently started precepting OHSU nursing students and received this amazing feedback from one of the OHSU faculty members:
"An OHSU student nurse wrote a heartfelt and perceptive portrayal of their time together. This has been a fabulous opportunity for her in her nursing education. Honestly, it has been great for me too. Hailey makes it easy to love nursing. She is a consummate professional and I relish the opportunity to expose my students to her practice. She is going to go as far as she dreams in her career. Thank you so much for providing our student this opportunity. It is priceless."

Hailey was recognized for her exemplar nursing care and compassion by one of our OHSU volunteers, an MD, who wrote:
"...I first encountered Hailey when I was sent to visit an intellectually disabled patient in my capacity as a volunteer for the OHSU palliative care consult service. She was extraordinarily kind and respectful both toward the patient and toward me, and since I stayed in the room awhile, I could see she was clearly knowledgeable and adept as well. I've had similar experiences with Hailey on my return visits to 5C. When I'm not volunteering, I actively practice medicine (psychiatry) in the community. I have deep appreciation for all nurses, especially the many who taught me some of the most valuable lessons in my training. I found Hailey to be exceptional even among that group, and I hope that she will get recognized" with the DAISY Award.
