Madison is an excellent leader and serves as a charge nurse and pod leader. She has been recognized for being an outstanding preceptor for our new nurses as well as the WGU students. Madison has demonstrated compassionate care, kindness, a giving personality, and a sharp critical mind in her role on the 4th floor. These character traits are demonstrated fully in the narrative of the nomination:
"Nurse Madison has the best bedside manner I've ever seen. She is really interested in my comfort and well-being, always attentive to my needs. She listens to my medical problems and follows through with them to the end. I can lay here in all day and night wondering what is next for me, but all I have to do is press the button and she comes running, so responsive to my needs and keeps me so well informed. She even brings me coffee and when I am not feeling well and not at my best, she buffers my interactions with some of the other services, like the lady trying to get my meal preferences. I've never seen a young person show so much respect for an older person as she does. She is a very cheerful young woman and cheers me up no matter how bad I feel. I think this extraordinary nurse should receive the DAISY Award."
Madison's actions and the compassionate care are representative of our own Standards of Behavior- Integrity, Teamwork, Respect, Ownership, Communication and Safety!
