The family of this patient has been challenging at times. Myra has cared for the patient the past two days. She has done an excellent job managing the family and diffusing tenuous situations. Yesterday morning the patient was feeling well enough to work with PT. By the afternoon, her condition was better. While the son was in the room, Myra assisted the patient to a seated position on the side of her bed. Her intention in doing so was to provide the patient an opportunity to hug her son. I know that this gesture meant the world to both the patient and son. Today the patient was able to get to the recliner using the lift. She was able to get out of the bed for 3 hours for the first time in weeks and her smile was priceless.
