Abbie was my grandmother's nurse during her stay at Proctor Hospital. Each and every time Abbie comes in to the room she has a smile and radiates positivity. She always called grandma by name and takes the time to remember the names of family members as well. She is so patient and caring, always making sure grandma was comfortable and that she had everything she needed. She always checked the basics, like vitals, catheter, and pain, but also focused on little comforts like doing grandma's hair or adjusting her pillow for maximum comfort. She makes us - patient and visitor - feel so special! Even though she had other patients, Abbie makes you feel like you're the only one. She genuinely cares for her patients and that shows! Anytime I asked for something, either for grandma or myself, she was happy to get it and she checked in even when we hadn't asked, just to see if there is anything she could do.She truly has made this very difficult time a little easier to handle. Her knowledge of the medical field, diligence to her job, and compassion towards others make her hands down the best nurse I have had the pleasure of meeting and working with. All of this can be seen best when she walks into the room and her presence makes my grandma's face light up. No one is more deserving of the DAISY Award than Abbie! Thank you Abbie!
