Rose Moore identified a neighborhood pharmacy error. She called the lead pharmacist and informed them of the error. The pharmacy sent a driver to her school. They picked up the prescription and corrected the error. They in turn delivered the medication personally to Rose. She communicated with the mother that the correct medication was at school. The pharmacist called me to personally thank Rose for being persistent and identifying the error and seeing that it was corrected.
Another incident was with a child who had repeated problems with tonsillitis. The grandmother attempted many times to get an appointment with an ENT. The closest appointment was two months away. Rose diligently called until she could get an appointment within one week. The child's tonsils were so bad he was placed in ICU for 24 hours after the surgery was done. The grandmother was very appreciative of the nonstop determination of the nurse to have the child seen as soon as possible.
