Marlen exemplifies a DAISY nurse in a multitude of ways. She has the ability to put all the patients at ease and feel comfortable. When a patient or family has a concern or does not understand what is going on with their plan of care, she does everything in her power to advocate for the patient and ensure they have a complete understanding of their healthcare. Every month she receives multiple comment cards on what an amazing nurse and leader she is. She does not only put her patients at ease but also her co-workers. She always maintains positive which is contagious to everyone around her. No matter how stressful the situation she knows she can tackle it and approaches the situation with a smile. For these reasons, Marlen Marrero, RN deserves this DAISY Award.
