I have met many nurses in the last 2 years as my husband has been treated for lymphoma. Lynise made me and my family feel at ease as soon as we met. As well as being completely competent and attentive, she cared for my husband so dearly, and she treated him with such respect! She is a genuine, exceptional nurse who deserves to be acknowledged. She's a keeper and yes...oncology nursing in her calling!

Lynise is one of the first and friendliest faces that greeted me after arrival to the floor. Unfortunately, I did not have her as my nurse as many times as I would have liked but she was there supporting me through 2, uncomfortable procedures. She assured me of a positive outcome before, during, and after. This made an uncomfortable situation very much bearable. That same gentle professionalism carries through in all that she does as my nurse! I cannot express what this means to this weary patient!

Hospital stays are scary and emotional. During our recent stay at the HUP Oncology Unit, Lynise proved to be an exceptional, professional advocate for the patient (my husband) and emotional supporter for me. Being an experienced nurse, she paid attention to the minute details of my husband's reactions to the treatments. She also had sensed my anxiety and offered support and encouragement in the kindest and endearing way. She gave me a hug and told me it would be okay. I think she is one of a kind and an ideal nurse. She is a professional dedicated to caring for her patients. One can learn the duties of a profession but being able to care and support your patients and the caregiver is something Lynise has in her soul. 6 weeks later and we are back at the hospital. Unfortunately, Lynise is not one of our nurses but she saw us in the hallway and not only recognized us but also called us by our names. I consider her to be my kind angel. Lynise is a DAISY Nurse who demonstrates skillful and compassionate care.
