Cate Cummings is one phenomenal nurse and has made my daughter and me feel welcome here at VCU. When you travel from home suddenly for your daughter to have surgery it's stressful for a family. This young lady is professional and, most, of all caring and you can tell has a passion for what she does.

Cate Cummings took care of me and made me feel comfortable. I was scared and this was my first surgery ever in my life and for her to care about me and I'm not even family. I am 9 years old and this lady makes a difference in patients' lives.

Cate stayed on top of taking care of Johnathan throughout the night so his father and I could get some rest. She helped me keep up with pumping so I didn't fall behind. If we needed anything she went and got it without a problem. Cate kept us updated on everything they were doing. She also talked with Doctors and limited the amount of blood draw at one time which I really appreciated considering my son isn't a week old and he's been getting blood taken since he's been here. Cate did well!

We were at our wit's end due to lack of communication regarding the care of our 1-year-old son, suffering from oral burns. We expressed our concerns to sweet Cate. She pulled our son's team together to come talk to us. If it wasn't for Cate, we would have discharged him ourselves and taken him back to St. Mary's. Out of the dozens of nurses. Cate was by far THE BEST!
