Recently we had a resident go into respiratory distress after moving from chair to bed. We were literally watching him shut down and feeling helpless and sad. Martha came in to the room, put him on the rebreather, and adjusted other things to make him more comfortable. She held his hand and talked calmly to him; he slowly responded and survived the crisis.
Martha came to work on CLC 1 in March. She immediately fit into our team and was a breath of fresh air for us. She is professional and positive. Everyone loves her, staff and veterans, their families included. She is compassionate and caring and a great role model for all of us. She gives her best every day. She treats each veteran with special care, paying attention to their specific wants and needs. She is a true team player and lends a hand whenever needed. It is an honor to work with her and we are so grateful she came to our floor.
