Sherri Pounders saved my life. I first met Sherri in the course of my pre-surgery examination for gallbladder removal. She was polite, courteous and competent. Most remarkably, she subsequently canceled my intended surgery scheduled for the next day as a result of her exam. Based on the findings she advised my surgeon that an anesthesiologist could not be assured of awakening me at the conclusion of surgery because of my low, irregular heartbeat. The message I received from my surgeon is that I needed to have cardiac approval for the gallbladder operation.
Sherri's evaluation took me on a several-week sojourn back to Stern Cardiovascular. The next day I donned a heart harness for 24 hours. This measurement process determined that my heartbeat over a 24 hour period ranged from 20-80 bpm. Thus, it became readily apparent that I rather desperately needed a pacemaker which was installed at Baptist on Walnut Grove. This Boston Scientific pacemaker device has produced remarkable benefits to me physically in the forms of both higher energy/stamina and an improved feeling of overall general wellness. This process has excited me to return to the gym.
Prior to my 2nd rescheduled surgery, I had the opportunity to thank Ms. Pounders personally. I frankly think that her diagnosis of my heartbeat issue changed the outlook on my years of future living by many years.
I appreciate all the attention that I received at both Baptist-Collierville and Baptist on Walnut Grove (Baptist-Memphis) from all parties concerned. Ms. Pounder's exam added years to my useful life for which I am eternally grateful.
