I was recently involved in an accident near my condo. My leg was swollen and in pain. People around my complex told me this was part of the healing process. I was concerned and called Nurse Kelli Greening who lives in my complex. This was five days after the incident. Kelli immediately came to my condo, examined and assessed my leg. She told me to immediately go for medical attention, and not wait for tomorrow. Immediately I went to the clinic and the doctor said if I had waited any longer, I could have lost my leg as a result of the swelling and infection. I continued daily injections for the next five days. Kelli came to my condo on several occasions on her days off and after her shifts to check on my dressing and monitor my progress. I feel if Kelli did not examine me and instruct me to go for immediate medical assistance I could have lost my leg. Kelli volunteered without any expectations of compensation and on her time off. Kelli represents NCH Downtown Hospital as a professional and dedicated nurse. Thank you, Kelli, for your unselfish and dedicated service while off duty.
