I witnessed Dana carrying a tray into the cafe for a young woman who had a toddler on one hip and several items in her hands. The visitor had spilled her tray of food as she tried to take it to a patient's room. Dana found her in the hall and helped picked up the tray along with the spilled items and then carried it all back to the café. Then Dana emptied the trash, let the cashier know what happened, helped the visitor replace the food, and then carried the tray to the visitor's destination. I thought this demonstrated Dana's ongoing commitment to go above and beyond to help patients, visitors, co-workers, and the community.
Dana regularly "raises her hand" to staff outreach events in the community and has regularly volunteered to present wellness informational sessions in the community. Her willingness to participate enables DePaul to be represented at community events and provide valuable health information, as well as information about DePaul in our service area. Dana is an asset to DePaul, presenting a great face for DePaul both in the hospital and in the community.
