Caitee is not afraid to speak up and relies on her instincts. Her decisions and actions through her commitment have made a lasting and significant contribution thus far in her career.
Therehave been many lives saved because of Caitee's swift actions, but this particular case has demonstrated that true cure comes from genuine care. Last week Caitee was caring for a patient who delivered via Cesarean Section. Her plan of care quickly changed after another co-worker expressed concerns about the procedure. Caitee insisted she is not transferring this patient and would like to continue caring for her.
She stayed and monitored the patient closely. The first sign of deterioration was promptly recognized and Caitee shouted for help. Her swift action got all the staff's attention and the patient was transferred to the OR within five minutes.
The very next day, this particular patient was sitting up in bed holding her baby and was surrounded by relatives. She survived repeated surgeries, blood transfusions and a night in ICU.
Caitee is a DAISY Nurse because of her professional, exceptional, kind and caring manner. For the time she takes to explain details and listen to patients and their relatives. For her boldness to speak up and for her ability to quickly change the plan of care to meet the needs of her patients. Also, for her perseverance, as it is an amazing source of inspiration to her co-workers.
