I met Marivel for the first time last year when my husband was transferred from the ER. The smile she gave us as a welcome was so compassionate. The way she set up my husband's bed, his medical instruments, and everything else was amazing. She was so fast, consistent, orderly and perfect putting things together. She was also very respectful, compassionate, loving, and attentive to the smallest needs of the patient. My husband felt very bad but with Marivel he felt comfortable and secure. Marivel's love with her work gave my husband peace of mind.
One day Marivel was off and my husband thought she had abandoned him, and he was not comfortable at all that whole night. My husband feared he would not get better because he did not have Marivel's treatment. She has been a great psychological support as well as medical support for my husband and for the family. She is an excellent nurse who is full of integrity.
When they moved us to another floor Marivel made sure the transfer was a smooth transition and she introduced us to our new nurse. We offered Marivel a small gift as a token of appreciation for everything she did for us and for making us feel so happy at Parkland. She did not accept, she said it was her pleasure to take care of my husband. My husband started crying he was so touched by Marivel, he hugged her tight. Thank God for Marivel she made our experience exceptional at Parkland Health & Hospital System!
