Not only is Arleen a fantastic leader, but I see her as a true role model for myself and other nurses. She is not only compassionate to the patients and families but also takes extra care to make sure everybody is happy and comfortable working and available for support at any given time. I can always count on Arleen to answer a question about a patient or to offer her assistance if I am overwhelmed. One particular incident I want to remember is when she came to assess a patient. She stepped up to assist me with the wound care, changing the diaper and positioning the child comfortably. I appreciate her patience to stay in the room until the child was comfortable. Arleen has great energy and her positivity influences the group she works with. She is very friendly, cool, and her presence always boosts the morale. I admire her knowledge of patients and families and the special requests they demand in caring for their children. She is a good observer and recognizes issues among the team and try to resolve constructively. She is the one who encouraged me to go back to school. I admire how great she is as a mentor and has influenced me to become a better nurse.
