In late January, I was transported by an ambulance from my doctor's office to the ER. I had VT and a heart rate of 160. Jason very calmly and professionally took charge of me. He made sure I was warm and asked continually if I was comfortable. He took the time to answer all of the many questions that my wife and I had about my condition, and did so not only in a professional manner but also with concern for my wellbeing and showed a humanness and empathy towards my frightening condition. He treated us as people that mattered, not just another person occupying a bed in the ER. Although Jason had a total of 4 patients to take care of in the ER, he sat for most of the time at his computer at the foot of my bed and physically monitored my condition. That in itself was very calming and reassuring to both my wife and me. He would answer our questions and would explain the purpose for each IV that was put in, each medicine that was dispensed, and each test that was given. He would reassure us with his calm manner and professional behavior. He showed a concern for both of us. My wife and I felt that we mattered, not just as a patient and a family member, but as people with value. He exceeded our expectations of any of the nursing staff during my stay there. Jason is a dedicated professional with a true calling to his profession. He is a treasure and anexample of what a nurse should aspire to be. We thank him for his duty towards his patients and their family members.
