I am very new in the Nurse Leader position and have many questions as well as many unturned stones in the area of experience.I recently was assisting a nurse that had a patient who required an emergentprocedure to repair some trauma that was causing the patient to experience pain and blood loss. As the gravity of the situation hit me, I realized I knew very little about this issue, and could offer very little assistance to the primary nurse caring for the patient. Rondel very calmly and efficiently guided me through the situation. She helped me gather the correct supplies, identify which provider to page, and how to go about assembling the right team to take top-notch care of the patient. All the while she was right in the middle of her lunch break!
Thanks to her relaxed tone, wealth of knowledge, and expertise, the patient had a positive outcome and I learned a new skill set. She didn't have to leave her lunch break to help me, but she did because that is the type of person Rondel is. Without being asked at all, she jumped into action. If there is ever a task that will help out a fellow nurse or patient, Rondel is the first to take that opportunity. I am so honored and privileged to work alongside such a compassionate, intelligent, and absolutely fabulous human being.
