I'd been to an Emergency Room several days earlier and called the clinic the day prior for follow up. Tammy called me back at home and I told her that I was in pain and physically and emotionally exhausted. She was a lifesaver. I was lost and frightened by my condition, but she was so kind and helpful. She patiently answered questions and even though I know how busy she must have been, she never made me feel rushed. For the first time in five days, I was able to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I finally had a plan, some answers, and someone watching out for me. Someone who cared enough to call. I want to thank Tammy for taking the time to help me. I have found myself in tears several times as I thought about Tammy's kindness. I'm not sure that we remember what these acts of kindness mean when they are offered. They are the differences between fear and hope, and between darkness and light. To the person lucky enough to be the recipient of another person's compassion and kindness, it means the world. I would like to let Tammy know that her gifts were gratefully received and will not be forgotten. She is a wonderful nurse and an even better person.
