Gabriella consistently displays extraordinary effort to make her patients and their families feel comfortable. She has been blessed with the talents of music and art. On many occasions, she can be found singing hymnals with patients, or caroling during the holidays to spread cheer. She spends time painting the glass doors on the East wing to decorate for holidays. When we had a patient who stayed on our unit for over six months, she created a window decorated with flowers and butterflies to hang on her door.
One day, Gabriella was caring for an elderly woman scheduled for cardiac catheterization. The patient was very anxious. Gabriella spoke with her and discovered that the patient had a prayer shawl at home that brought her comfort. Gabriella contacted the patient's daughter, explained the situation, and coordinated a way for the daughter to bring in the prayer shawl prior to the procedure.
Gabriella is such a kind and thoughtful person who is always pleasant and positive.
