Alexandra from 4 Central MPCU was nominated by the patient's family. According to the Gillesby family, Alex was extraordinary in handling their mother's care. It turns out that their grandmother had just passed away the day before their mother was admitted to the hospital. Alex paid close attention to detail. She was so attentive, professional, caring and considerate to all our mother's needs. Our mother thought Alex was extra special. Alex called us hours before our mother passed as a 'change in condition occurred' and we should come back to the hospital quickly. Alex kept our mother so comfortable the last two days, minimizing her pain, and accompanying her to sleep. What we didn't realize until our mother had passed away was that this was the first time Alex had lost a patient on her shift. We felt very sorry for her as she embraced my sister and me, as we waited and prayed during the final moments.
We feel so blessed by the care on 4 Central from all the nurses and nursing assistants, however, Alex stood out about the rest!
