When Dawn came into my room and I saw her I felt a warm sensation. Instantly I felt this was a good nurse and felt glad to have her. Besides routine chores like changing the board, Dawn handed me three towels, a wet one with soap, a wet one without soap and a dry one. I asked her what they were for, a little stunned, she said that in case I wanted to clean myself I do it with the soapy one, rinse with the plain wet one and dry with the third one. Having gone through a couple procedures I was practically immobile and certainly couldn't possibly get out of bed. I missed my morning "hygiene" routine and what she did, without me even asking, was God sent.
I watched as Dawn, on her own, moved my stuff from the table and wiped it clean. Unfortunately, I've stayed in the hospital and know just those actions alone are so welcomed and outstanding. Dawn continued her excellent care for me throughout of the day.
She remembered me from some time ago. For someone to continue this type of care throughout, is truly deserving of recognition. She is professional, responsible, caring, and takes the time to assist you however she can. A super nurse/person. Please give Dawn all the encouragement possible as she is a true asset to Banner Estrella, but mainly to her patients! Real quality, top-notch nurse!
