I recently had a patient who was going home with hospice services. His son was very stressed and emotional and he was getting angry about what he perceived as the hospital pushing his father out of the hospital. Sandra stepped right up and came in the room with the son. She was kind, calm, compassionate and so caring. She allowed this son to express his concerns. She apologized that he felt that way and validated his feelings. The man calmed down almost immediately. His father was dying and this son was alone and facing many decisions he had to make and didn't have many options for his father because of financial issues. Sandra is so professional and calm in her approach. She has been an outstanding partner for me in my newer role as Hospice Nurse Liaison and I appreciated her assistance time after time in obtaining hospice referrals and discharge planning. She is a true DAISY!
