April was my husband's nurse for a consecutive number of days and I would like to acknowledge her work. On the first day of post-op, April would raise the bed a few inches to enable my husband to get out of bed efficiently with less pain. April's an experienced nurse and applied knowledge and compassion which made that first post-op walk more successful. On my husband's 4th day, he developed a complication. April's ability to keep all the care groups and us updated was a sign of her communication skills. She was the ringmaster of this 3 ring circus! One day, I had to work and worried about leaving my husband alone. Luckily, April was going to be his nurse so I went to work knowing he would be well taken care of. Her presence gave me peace of mind. The final day of her 'stretch', she was the charge nurse but found the time to stop down several times to check on the both of us. Her compassion is outstanding. April shared with us she has worked at ProMedica for 11 years. I found her to be positive, caring, and extremely competent. I am hoping someone else has recognized this exceptional nurse.
