I was in the ICU for 4 days and had interactions with over 8 nurses, and Theresa stood out above all the others. Her bedside manner, personal connection, care, knowledge base, and assertiveness all combined to help rapidly improve my condition. Because of her sincere care and invested interest in my health, I was able to rest and relax so my body could do its part and focus on healing.
Theresa did not give up on me, instead, she supported and encouraged me out of my periods of despair. She watched my symptoms closely and with her expert critical thinking skills and assertiveness, communicated effectively with the doctors to make necessary changes in treatment.
Because of Theresa's attention to detail and persistence, these changes averted the need for more invasive procedures. My family and I are truly grateful that god put Theresa in charge of my care during this trying time. She is truly an asset to the ICU and Avista Hospital.
