My husband was in the hospital recovering from surgery, expecting to go home the next day, when we suspected that my husband had a stroke. Laurie was called to come up to the room to monitor my husband. We were very grateful to have Laurie there with us. She went above and beyond to make sure he received the utmost care. She stayed with us and answered about a million questions from family members. She also went with him for his MRI. Laurie went so far, going into the room while he was having his test to hold his hand to calm him when he was having difficulty staying still. And then… to come over and find us the next day in Neuro-Acute care to check on us to see how we were doing. Talk about a dedicated compassionate Nurse!

Dr. G was called to a rapid response on Rehab for tachycardia and hypotension expecting to have to transfer the patient to the ICU, but by the time he got there, Laurie had already started an IV bolus, ordered labs, done valsalva maneuvers and pretty much handled the problems. Awesome job Laurie!
