A mammogram was scheduled when I felt a lump in my right breast. Sherry sat with me after my biopsy was scheduled, explained the next procedure and what to expect. Her compassion and sensitivity made me feel very important at that minute, I felt cared about and valued. I know I didn't have many questions at the time, but when she called me with the results she answered any I had.
She was there when I met with Dr. S for my first consult and helped with decisions and input I needed for a comfortable procedure.
She made several follow up phone calls to give me more information, such as how to contact the cancer society for a wig, and who to call for lymphedema information. She also came to the hospital with a bra that had implants to help with my personal integrity.
Sherry was more than just the nurse that day. Her follow up and extra calls and information were always right on. What I needed when I needed it.
