Having a child is always a very exciting and stressful time for moms-to-be and their families. For me the situation was just that! My entire pregnancy the birth plan had been for me to deliver my baby traditionally and naturally. My due date was Feb. 7th, but my little one had plans to stay for longer! He was overdue and not showing signs of moving out so my delivery plan went from natural delivery to my having to have a C-section.
I have never had surgery before of any kind, and I was very scared. Summer was a God-send! She was patient, thorough and concise in her explanation of the events that would take place that day. When I became upset, she was very compassionate and took my hand and assured me that while things would seem hectic or scary, everyone was going to ensure not only the safety and health of the baby, but my safety and comfort as well.
During the preparation process, she found time not only to complete her job but to periodically check on me verbally and offer words of encouragement.
What had been a very scary experience turned into a beautiful memory of the birth of my son.
