Demeka provided outstanding care to my dad when he was in the hospital because of his diagnosis for terminal cancer. Her caring, compassionate personality makes her an outstanding nurse! Demeka accompanied my dad to get a procedure done that was supposed to take 15-30 minutes. The procedure took longer than expected, so Dad was out of his room for a longer than expected time. Not only did Demeka call back upstairs to let us know about the delay, but she stayed with him the whole time and never left his side. This kind of thoughtful gesture was not lost on my dad, as he thanked her numerous times for staying with him. Her actions and display of compassion with someone with a terminal illness speaks volumes of her work ethic, and the kind, caring person she is. Demeka's selfless actions reflect great credit within herself and Novant Health Huntersville Medical Center, and all registered nurses throughout the profession.
