I would like to thank the nurses who took care of my father in the ICU for a week up until his death. I first would like to say that the team of nurses worked so well together and were always willing to help out with anything when the assigned nurse wasn't available, kudos to them. My father had many challenges ahead of him that we were not aware of and it was a hard fight. The RRT, Carolyn, helped him get the crud out of his throat that was so thick and she refused to give up on getting it out. We were all so appreciative, including my dad; sadly it would keep returning. The nurses David, Heather, Kris, and Nan were all so kind, knowledgeable and always trying to figure out ways to make him more comfortable and always coming in the room checking on him, making suggestions, and giving updates. Kris, the last nurse we had when we decided to put him in hospice care, treated my dad like her own father, was so understanding, caring, and empathetic with us. She was constantly checking on him and us to see if we needed anything. She made us (my sister and me) feel more at ease after we learned of his poor outcome. I thank you, everyone, wish the outcome was better, but we stayed with him 24/7 and know that he received all that we could do for him. He is no longer in pain or having any issues and we were able to say goodbye without remorse. Thank you, God bless you all. You all did an awesome job and it couldn't have been any better.
