Throughout his many years in the Memorial System, Marty has served as a mentor, a team player, a caregiver, a confidant, a staff educator, a patient advocate, a friend, and an extraordinary nurse. Marty is an integral part of the JDCH family, both patients and staff members rely on Marty's expertise. Marty is a JDCH superhero, for whenever the going gets tough, the tough rely on Marty.
We have many professional and personal stories to show how Marty exemplifies a DAISY Nurse. Marty has served on the JDCH Clinical Ladder Committee for many years. He has been an educator, both to the floor nursing staff and leadership committee alike. Teaching the general nursing staff about different policies and procedures, including sedation protocols, and central line care. Marty educates the Clinical Ladder Committee, keeping them up to date on hot topics, such as the changes to health care (The implications of the Affordable Care Act). Whenever there is a question regarding policies and protocols, Marty serves as a reference to all around him.

Marty exemplifies the art of caring. His calm demeanor and soft-spoken charm put children and their parents at ease. Marty treats all with respect and dignity and has the patience of a saint. He was awarded a Memorial Angel for befriending an elderly gentleman whose IV he started several times. Marty is a true DAISY Nurse.

Marty is the epitome of an expert nurse! Marty was my preceptor in Imaging and helped me grow as an Imaging nurse daily. He truly strives to help the patients and their families feel comfortable and at ease. I can name numerous times that Marty has stepped in and helped all of his coworkers; including on his days off with Clinical Ladder and other various activities. I personally want him never to retire as I consider him family and cannot picture Imaging without him! It is such an honor working alongside the best in the healthcare system. He is simply the best.

Martin Radebaugh goes above and beyond on a day to day basis. He is a mentor to everyone he encounters, a caring nurse to all of his patients and family members, and promotes genuine joy on every shift he works. I cannot think of just one story to tell on Marty's behalf because he just has so many moments where he can make a potentially bad situation into a seamless one where everyone is happy. Marty is an exceptional nurse and an example to all.

Marty has been my friend and colleague for 17 years. He was my son's ally during his teenage years and is one of my daughter's biggest fans. He has supported my family and me through celebrations and tears. Having said this, it is obvious what type of nurse Marty is- caring, kindhearted, and well-liked by his patients and peers.
Marty was one particular patient's favorite imaging nurse. S adored Marty and the feeling was mutual. Marty took care of him on each of his visits because S trusted him explicitly.
On one particular visit, Marty was scheduled off and came in at 0700 to support S. S's smile was priceless as is Marty's dedication to his patients. This is just one example of Marty's numerous kind-hearted actions to his patients, families, and peers.
