Obviously being in the hospital with your child is nothing short of a nightmare. We have been blessed with so many wonderful nurses. There has been one who has as good as a nurse could possibly be: Marisa. I have sat here trying to put into words how amazing she has been. There are no words to describe the way she has treated me and my family. The number one thing that she has done sounds so simple but has been such a blessing, she listened to us. She has treated us as if we are her only patients. Having someone hear us and our concerns has made this scary experience bearable. My family texts us and always ask, "Is Marisa her nurse right now?" because they know how much more at ease we are when Marisa is taking care of our girl. She was born to be a nurse. My family will never forget her name. She has been our light in the darkness. Marisa has the extra natural compassion that shines through the second she walks in the door. My daughter has been so scared. Marisa has taken the time to walk her through all the "not fun stuff" she has had to endure. She has brought her small gifts from the toy box to help encourage her to keep being strong. Marisa is the definition of a hero.
