Working in our unit is challenging. Jennifer Piper is knowledgeable in the field of psychiatry and is board certified as a psychiatric mental health nurse (PMHN-BC). Whether it is tempering heightened emotions or being a cheerleader for the severely depressed, Jennifer has met every challenge in being an advocate for the patients whether with sobering advice and/or humor when needed.
Jennifer's patients are consistently writing Share Cards about her dedication as a nurse while in her care. Recognizing the numerous duties that encompass keeping our unit running, she displays true team spirit in initiating helping others, regardless of the task, with a positive attitude. She is also an active member of our unit and hospital, showing engagement and investing in delivering quality care. She displayed this through her willingness to change her schedule to accommodate unit needs, taking on the responsibility of committee member, leading our unit shared governance meeting and currently has stepped up to take on the recently vacated role of CPI facilitator for the hospital and our unit. For these and many more reasons, she is a deserving candidate for the DAISY Award.
