Starting out as one of our Nurse Interns here at Alliance, it has been fascinating to watch Victoria Tran grow and blossom into the nurse that she is today. Her connections with her coworkers and patients are a true testament of pure compassion, and she brings a sense of calmness to the unit no matter how chaotic the shift might be. Victoria is always finding an opportunity to make her patients smile and ease their family member's fears.
Recently, she had a patient that was nearing death and was becoming angry and depressed. Upon casual conversation with Victoria, he mentioned how much he loved Philly Cheesesteak sandwiches. After doing some local restaurant research and getting physician and charge nurse approval, of course, that day Victoria chose to take her 30-minute lunch break to go pick up a meal for this patient so that he could end his day with a smile. This selfless act is just one example of many of how Victoria goes above and beyond the line of duty. Victoria is an inspiration to her peers and coworkers, myself included, and truly an asset to our organization. Though she's only been a nurse for a short period of time, I would want her taking care of my loved ones without hesitation.
