Our son was brought to ICU on in a coma. He was diabetic and had several medical problems, an anoxic brain injury being the most serious. My husband and I lived out of state, so we stayed at the hospital 4 out of the 5 nights our son was there. He passed away in July at the age of 44.
Matt Chaffinch worked overnight and was not only caring to our son but also to us. He made sure we had pillows and blankets to rest the best we could. He explained everything that he did and gave us such compassion as we came to realize that our son was not going to live. The one night he convinced us to leave, he placed our son's Eagle's hat on his head so that when we came back, we knew he took good care of him. Matt made the worse experience of our lives bearable.
We were very pleased with all the nurses that treated our son, but Matt excelled in his treatment of my husband and myself.
