Kelsey is kind, compassionate, patient and above all, has a great spirit. Her warm smile and positive attitude in the face of adversity is contagious to all those around her- colleagues, patients, and families. No matter how busy Kelsey gets, her attitude is always upbeat and she addresses her patients and their families with a warm smile. She is consistently recognized often by her patients during IDR's, manager rounds, functional nurse rounds and Press Ganey Surveys. Patients often express how grateful they are to Kelsey for her exceptional care and how she goes above and beyond for them. Kelsey is mature beyond her age as one patient wrote, "she helped me by talking to me about the loss of my husband who passed three weeks prior." Another patient wrote, "Kelsey was there for me and assisted me whenever I needed her. I am very thankful!" And another patient wrote, "I would like to recognize my day RN, Kelsey. I was not eating solid foods. Kelsey went out of her way to get me food that I could eat. She was courteous and willing to talk to me as well. Thank you!" Kelsey is the embodiment of a special nurse with a caring soul. We are very lucky to have her on our unit and at Northwell as a whole.
