Angela Pitts has epitomized what it means to be an excellent nurse for me. For years she has helped me, first as a frequent caregiver while on Peds/PICU and even now whenever I go to the ED, despite being an adult. She always went the extra mile, doing her hardest to make sure I was calm and comfortable.
The event that I remember most clearly demonstrating Angela's excellence took place in September. I came into the ED via ambulance in full anaphylactic shock. I could not speak or convey my medical history to the staff. However, she remembered me from when she had cared for me earlier that year while on Peds. She rushed to help and informed the doctors of my history and what she remembered about me. She stayed with me when IV Epi, the most painful experience of my life, was administered, despite having an urgent transport case to attend to. She made one of the scariest moments of my life bearable and I am forever grateful. Because of nurses like her, I decided to work for Bronson and try to help contribute to such an excellent team. Thank you, Angela for everything you have done for me, and keep doing great work healing patients!
