Theresa Curbelo is an exceptional charge nurse, she is always calm and very professional in the way she interacts with patients, their families, and staff. Recently I had a difficult day and a group of patients. I had two patients in the same room and both had to be transfused at the same time, not to mention my other four patients required my attention.
Theresa came to the rescue and assisted with all the tasks I had to accomplish and assisted with the transfusions. I do not think I could have survived this shift without her assistance. This is not a one-time occurrence, this is something Theresa does every day as charge nurse and even the days she is not in charge and has her own group of patients, she is always there to help. She continuously offers assistance with admissions, discharges, and on the days we have 7 patients she helps pass medications. She is a valuable asset to our team and to the hospital. She will come in on her days off when staffing is a challenge. Her dedication to her team and patients is why she is an example of the type of nurse we all should strive to be and deserves to receive The DAISY Award.
