To say that all the nurses that cared for my twins (and my husband and me) were amazing would be an understatement. As a nurse leader, I was utterly blown away by the kindness and compassion shown by this team.
We had the pleasure of having Kristin for several days over the course of our stay. Kristin was there daily making sure we knew how to care for our twins, and that we knew what to look for and which things were concerning and which things we didn't need to panic about.
When my little girl wasn't maintaining her oxygen saturations, it wasn't bad enough to set off the alarms, but it was enough of a change that there was also a change in heart rate. None of this was enough to set alarms off, and only my adult ICU monitor staring noticed it.
When I mentioned I was concerned about mostly normal, but now different numbers Kristin trusted me, she listened, and then went back through the monitor to confirm, and then brought the MD up to speed. Luckily, it was a transient thing, but to have my concerns heard and acted upon so quickly is something I will always remember.
