During our stay at Lutheran General, we had many, many good nurses, many great. But one that I want to particularly talk about is Diane! She is exceptional and amazing.
She went above and beyond and "beyonder" every time, with her patience, compassion, and follow-up, as well as explaining and educating us.
When you are in the hospital and consumed with worry and all your emotions, those things are really what give you hope and strength to go on.
Diane was very good! She showed care for my father (the patient), but also for us (the family).
She was helpful when he got frustrated and mad about his sickness and exhaustion. He would yell how he wanted to go home, and she calmly would take his hand and calm him, comfort him and explain that he has to get better.
Even with his (and all of our) frustration, when seeing Diane, we all felt a sense of comfort and ease knowing he is in good care.
She continuously monitored him, was attentive and professional. Even more impressive was how she continued to do so, even when he wasn't her patient. She would stop by the room to say hi and ask how we all are and see his progress/change throughout his stay.
Diane helped my father flourish when she was his nurse by encouraging him and monitoring his needs.
She was always helpful in any questions, concerns, or need of explanation we had and helped to voice our concerns to the doctors.
We are thankful for her and appreciate her greatly!
