Autumn is one of those nurses that loves her job and it shows. My first encounter with her wasn't as our nurse. I approached her in the hallway looking for my nurse and she immediately offered to help. My sister wasn't comfortable taking her suppository and Autumn took the time to explain to her why she needed it and why it would help. My sister agreed, thanks to Autumn, and was able to get comfortable.
When Autumn was assigned to our room eventually, she always went above and beyond with making sure we had what we needed. Even for me as a family member, she showed genuine care and support. She frequented our room to help minimize me doing all the care myself, allowing me to get some sleep. Autumn is an asset to Shirley Ryan.
Overall, the entire staff was good, but Autumn truly stood out to me. She is an amazing and kind person. I wish all nurses shared her level of compassion and work ethic. I am grateful to have had her as a nurse.
